Each unit wattage is multiplied by quantity and summed across every line. The suggested inverter adds a 25 percent margin over the total for startup surge, a common rule of thumb, and is not a substitute for a site survey.

What to do with the number

  • Inverters are rated in VA or kW. Match the suggested VA figure or the next size up.
  • Air conditioners and pumps draw two to three times their running watts for a moment at start.
  • Not everything runs at once. If you never run the iron and the AC together, size for the realistic peak.
  • Sanctioned load matters for net metering. An inverter above it is the most common rejection.

Next steps

Once you have a load figure, the sizing guide walks through panel count, battery capacity and whether an on-grid or hybrid inverter fits your bills.

Send us the total and we will come back with a full bill of materials and an installed price, usually the same day.
