Hybrid or on-grid: how to decide
A straight comparison, with the cases where each one is the wrong answer.
On-grid, cheaper, faster payback
No battery, no bank replacement in year eight, and the lowest rupee per watt. When the grid drops, so does your system. If your area loses power rarely, this is almost always the right buy.
Hybrid, more expensive, keeps running
The inverter costs more, the battery adds a large one-off, and you gain uninterrupted power plus the ability to store cheap daylight for the evening peak. Worth it if you lose power for hours a week or run medical or business load.
The middle path
Buy a hybrid inverter now and the battery later. Hybrid units run perfectly well batteryless, so you get net metering today and add storage when the budget allows.
